About the Photographer

For Craig Blacklock, nature photography has always been somewhat of a family affair. His father, Les, was a pioneer in the field of nature photography and often works in tandem with his son.

He primarily uses 4x5 inch view cameras but has recently begun exploring digital photography and HD video recording for various new projects (including Healing Garden). He also utilizes both black and white, as well as color images.

Environmentalism has always been an important cause to Craig. As a conservationist, he hopes his photos will inspire people to preserve Minnesota's precious landscapes. He is the co-founder and president of Blacklock Nature Sanctuary and also took part in establishing the Lake Superior Water Trail of Minnesota.

Craig and his family currently live in Moose Lake, Minnesota where Blacklock Photography Galleries is also located. He was appointed a Senior Fellow at the Center for Spirituality & Healing to support the Center's ongoing research and education in Optimal Healing Environments and will continue to produce nature videos for health care.
