Education Programs

The Center provides healthcare professionals, students and the greater community access to the latest approaches in integrative healthcare education. We offer one of the most successful Graduate Minors in Integrative Therapies and Healing Practices in the country.  We also offer a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate program that includes a track in Health Coaching.  Our courses include study-abroad options, as well as continuing education programs and online learning options for working professionals.

Collaborating with the University's Academic Health Center schools and colleges, the Center helps weave integrative care topics into graduate and undergraduate health sciences curricula. Health sciences students learn how different cultures, faiths and integrative therapies can impact clinical care as well as health and well-being.

A Healer in Training:
Natalie Rahn’s Journey of Healing Includes Center’s Certificate in Integrative Therapies & Healing Practices

Born with spastic cerebral palsy, Natalie Rahn’s life’s journey has been admittedly difficult, even for a sunny optimist. But early on Rahn didn’t let her disability deter her from experiencing many of the pastimes of her peers. What she didn’t count on was that those activities would propel her to a career focused on integrative health and healing.

Health Coaching Education

The Center offers a formal track in health coaching under our graduate-level Certificate in Integrative Therapies and Healing Practices.

Health Coaching is a new and rapidly growing profession designed to meet the needs of people actively seeking to improve their well-being in the midst of complex and often confusing healthcare options. It is practiced from a holistic perspective that sees each person as intrinsically healthy, whole, wise, and the ultimate expert in his or her healing journey.  It is being offered in a wide range of venues, including hospitals, clinics, community health and fitness facilities, corporations, third party payers, and private practices.

The Center offers two training options to meet the needs of health care practitioners desiring further education: The first is a formal track in health coaching under our graduate-level Certificate in Integrative Therapies and Healing Practices for those individuals who wish to be trained to practice as a health coach.  Click here for more info about the health coaching track or to apply now for the health coaching track!

The second offering is a new Continuing Education (CEU) option for healthcare professionals wanting to gain valuable information and skills for use in their fields, but do not wish to commit to a two-year program, or for those who don’t desire significant clinical oversight.  To register on-line click hereClick here for more information about health coaching continuing education (CEU) options.
