Graduate Minor in Complementary Therapies and Healing Practices


The Center's Graduate Minor program offers interdisciplinary coursework in a wide range of cross-cultural healing and spiritual practices. The NIH CAM Curriculum grant supports the development of new course offerings through the Graduate Minor. In the Spring 2002 semester, more than 200 students from the health sciences, liberal arts and community participated in Graduate Minor coursework.

  • New Graduate Minor course offerings in the 2001 - 2002 school year include:

  • Therapeutic Landscapes

  • Interdisciplinary Palliative Care

  • Spirituality and Resilience

  • Botanical Medicines and Complementary Healthcare

  • Music in Medicine and Wellness

  • Explorations in Complementary Therapies and Healing Practices: TTouch for Humans

  • Forgiveness and Healing: A Journey Towards Wholeness

Two courses, Clinical Aromatherapy I and II, were offered for the first time in an online format in Fall '01 and Spring '02.

Six new Fall '02 and Spring '03 courses include:

  • Meditation: Integrating Body and Mind

  • Introduction to Energy Healing

  • Integrative Psychotherapy

  • Significant Spiritual Texts of the 20th Century

  • Healthy Humor and Music

  • Health and Healing
