Miriam Cameron, Ph.D., M.S., M.A., R.N.
Miriam E. Cameron, Ph.D., M.S., M.A., R.N.
Dr. Cameron holds a master of science in nursing (1986), doctor of philosophy in nursing/bioethics (1991), and a master of arts in philosophy/bioethics (1994) from the University of Minnesota. In addition, she did postdoctoral study in nursing and bioethics at the University of Minnesota, Georgetown University, University of Illinois-Chicago, University of Wisconsin Madison, and Midwest Center for Bioethics in Kansas City. The National Institute of Nursing Research at the National Institutes of Health funded both her doctoral and postdoctoral phenomenological, ethics research.
At the University of Minnesota, Dr. Cameron is a Center Associate at the Center for Bioethics and a faculty member at the Center for Spirituality & Healing where she developed and teaches three graduate courses:

Traditional Tibetan Medicine: Ethics, Spirituality & Healing (CSpH 5315 -fall semester, 2 credits)

Yoga: Ethics, Spirituality, and Healing (CSpH 5317 summer semester, 2 credits)

Yoga, Ayurveda, and Tibetan Medicine in India (CSpH 5000, Section 1, winter break, 4 credits)

For many years, Dr. Cameron has traveled in Asia and studied Yoga and Traditional Tibetan Medicine. She collaborates with traditional Tibetan doctors in India and has conducted ethics research with Korean colleagues in South Korea. Her publications include journal articles and columns, book chapters, and a monograph, as well as three books:
