Patterns of Disharmony
There are four primary patterns of disharmony between yin
and yang:
- Yin
excess (for example, too much cold, too much moisture,
or too much rest)
- Yin
deficient (not enough cooling energy in the body, not
enough moisture, or not enough rest)
- Yang
excess (too much heat, too much movement, hyper-function
of bodily processes)
- Yang
deficient (not enough heat, not enough movement, hypo-function
of bodily processes).
The various manifestations of yin and yang are endless, but
all patterns of disharmony can be understood as being rooted
in one or more of these four primary patterns.
Move your mouse over each of the primary
patterns (in blue font) to see a graphic representation.
