Wellbeing at the Core

At the University of Minnesota's Center for Spirituality & Healing, Wellbeing permeates everything we do.

Wellbeing is a state of balance or alignment in body, mind and spirit. In this state, we feel content; connected to purpose, people and community; peaceful and energized; resilient and safe. In short, we are flourishing.

Our personal wellbeing - as well as the wellbeing of our families, the organizations in which we work, and the communities in which we live - is influenced by many factors illustrated in our Wellbeing Model, explained in more detail below. We encourage you to consider ways to increase your capacity and expand your potential in these areas.

Advancing the health and wellbeing of people, organizations and communities is core to the Center for Spirituality & Healing.

Wellbeing Lecture Series: Wellbeing With An Open Heart: Natural and Integrative Approaches to Heart Health

Dr. Stephen Devries is a preventive cardiologist with more than 20 yearsof clinical experience in university-based medical centers. In addition to his role as Executive Director at the Gaples Institute for Integrative Cardiology, he is currently Associate Professor of Medicine at Northwestern University. He has been voted by his peers many years over as one of the “Best Doctors in America” and lectures nationally on integrative approaches to prevention of heart disease. Dr. Devries is author of “Integrative Cardiology,” published by Oxford University Press.
