Summary

Andrea Uptmor, MA, MFA, is a writer, editor, and one of the producers of the Taking Charge website. As a content developer at the Center for Spirituality & Healing at the University of Minnesota, Andrea has been a part of a team that launched many online learning modules for healthcare professionals, students, and the general public on the topics of integrative nursing, wellbeing, resilience, and integrative therapies. In addition, she developed two undergraduate courses that explore meaning in life and the relationship between technology and wellbeing. She also co-authored a chapter in the textbook Integrative Nursing.

Andrea's personal mindfulness practice has been a cornerstone of her adult life. She has participated in many residential retreats and is a regular volunteer at Common Ground Meditation Center in Minneapolis. In 2015, Andrea was awarded a Tending Space Fellowship from the Hemera Foundation to explore the relationship between mindfulness and the creative process.
