Below are frequently asked questions by applicants to the Master of Arts in Integrative Health and Wellbeing Coaching program. If you have questions regarding admission to the program, many answers are provided below.

All applicants are required to complete the University of Minnesota’s Graduate Online Application. We require the following information: transcripts, resume, English language proficiency exam (if required for international applicants), personal statement, resume, and letters of recommendation.

What are the prerequisites for admission to the Health Coaching program?

What are the prerequisites for admission to the Health Coaching program?

Students must have at least a four-year degree from an accredited institution. Before enrolling, all students must complete undergraduate coursework in General Psychology, Human Physiology, and Statistics with a B or better and Statistics must have been completed within the past seven years unless currently being used. We also recommend but do not require coursework in Medical Terminology.

We only offer admission during the fall semester. The priority application deadline is February 1 (all prerequisite courses must be completed). The final deadline is March 15

Do I have to take the GRE or GMAT?

Do I have to take the GRE or GMAT?

No, the GRE or GMAT is not required and scores will not be taken into consideration when reviewing applications.

What kind of financial aid is available?

When will I be notified of admission?

When will I be notified of admission?

Students will be notified via email within 4-6 weeks after the application deadline.

Can I take courses as a non-degree seeking student and apply them to the program later?

Can I take courses as a non-degree seeking student and apply them to the program later?

Yes! However, there is a limit to how many courses students can be completed outside of a degree program. Please contact Christina for more information.

Do you offer information sessions?

Yes, information sessions are offered monthly October-March. We also have a previously recorded information session on our website.

My prerequisite courses won’t be completed by the application deadline, can I still apply?

My prerequisite courses won’t be completed by the application deadline, can I still apply?

Yes, prerequisite coursework does not need to be completed at the time of your application, but does need to be completed prior to starting the program in the fall. However, in order to be eligible for the priority deadline, all prerequisite coursework must be completed at the time of application.
