Focus Areas

The Bakken Center for Spirituality & Healing offers an extraordinary array of educational topics in integrative healing and wellbeing. Our courses will open your eyes to a world of diverse cross-cultural healing and spiritual practices, and will deepen your understanding of integrative healthcare perspectives.

Our courses generally fall under one of the following focus areas:

Creative arts therapies can involve music, art, dance, movement, and other creative activities.

Health Coaches partner with patients to achieve their overall goals from a holistic perspective.

Integrative nursing uses evidence to inform traditional and emerging interventions that support whole person/whole systems healing.

An awakening to discover your deepest inner resources for living, healing, and coping with stress.

This emerging field focuses on the healing power of nature through interactions with plants, animals and natural landscapes.

Nourishing Minnesota provides resources to the public about the relationship between food and wellbeing. This initiative has made available a wide variety of recipes and fact sheets.

Ancient, interrelated healing traditions of medicine and yoga teach us how to create and maintain a healthy mind and body in order to live a yogic life and to develop optimal health.

A perspective; a way of thinking, leading, and healing. Preparing us to be agents of individual growth, social change, and environmental restoration.

Interdisciplinary Learning Opportunities

The Center offers many interdisciplinary learning opportunities. You may pursue our master’s degree in integrative health and wellbeing coaching, a certificate and/or graduate minor in integrative therapies and healing practices, or take courses for personal growth and professional development.
