New Episode of Take 5: Clinical Hypnosis

January 21, 2020

A new episode of our podcast, Take 5 for Your Health and Wellbeing, is out! In this episode, we sit down with Amy Taylor to learn more about the practice of clinical hypnosis. Taylor is a physician and a faculty member here at the Center, and she appeared on a previous episode about botanical medicine. Tune in to learn more about the often-overlooked practice of clinical hypnosis!

"I'll be honest, the first time I heard about clinical hypnosis, I was a little bit skeptical," says Taylor. "My only experience with hypnosis was in high school when a performer came and made a whole bunch of my classmates do a bunch of crazy things on stage, like walking like a duck, or clucking like a chicken, or doing Elvis impersonations. That was my experience with hypnosis. So, when I first heard this researcher talk about the benefits of clinical hypnosis I was really skeptical, but he made such a strong case for the scientific basis for hypnosis and all the different things it can help that I quickly changed my mind and started looking into it more, and found that it can really be beneficial for a large range of clinical entities."

The biweekly Take Five for Your Health and Wellbeing podcast provides science-based health and wellbeing tips and interviews with experts. Take 5 is now available on iTunesStitcherGoogle play, and TuneIn where you can listen, rate, and subscribe. After you've listened, be sure to give us feedback
