Wellbeing and Resilience for Health Professionals


This is an online course designed specifically for the needs of health professionals. Participants will learn self-care strategies and develop them to improve wellbeing and resiliency. Skills learned will reduce the stress and burnout often experienced in healthcare professions. The strategies participants learn in this course will enhance the wellbeing of their teams and workplaces, and ultimately that of their patients. This course is taught by University of Minnesota Center for Spirituality & Healing faculty. Continuing Education, CNE and CME credits are available.

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • Discuss what stress is, and how it can impact your wellbeing and behavior. 
  • Identify stressors common to people in all health professions as well as those unique to specific professions and/or individuals.
  • Discuss wellbeing in the relational, social, and environmental context in which health professionals live and work.
  • Discuss the role of: healthy lifestyle; perceptions and thoughts; values and purpose in enhancing wellbeing in health professionals.
  • Develop skills to enhance mindful awareness and apply them to self-care.
  • Identify areas to enhance current wellbeing. 
  • Discuss self-care strategies that enhance resiliency.
  • Identify strategies for implementing and sustaining change. 
  • Develop and implement a personal plan for self-care in a health professional setting.
