Community Events for Waking the Oracle

What to Expect

Waking the Oracle Pop-up Events combine mindfulness, a chance to connect with others and/or have personal space, time for reflection, and an opportunity for unpressured creative expression.

Please have something to write with and a notepad for reflections available. For events in the Meditation Space, we recommend dressing in layers in case the room temperature fluctuates, and we will provide seating options including chairs and meditation cushions.

Who These Events Are For

Waking the Oracle Pop-up Events in the Meditation Space are open to University of Minnesota staff, faculty, and students. Online Pop-up Events are open to the general public. If you are interested in Waking the Oracle events and want to learn more about future offerings, please sign up to be alerted when new event information is available.

If you have any questions or to make disability-related accommodations, please contact the Bakken Center's community relations office ([email protected], 612-625-8164).

Co-produced by the Bakken Center and the Weisman Art Museum, Waking The Oracle Community Circles invite participants into a warm-hearted facilitated space where meaningful connection and dialogue can be had through empathetic listening.  With the help of a bit of music, storytelling, and an adaptable gathering space support in the form of a centering well, people gather together and lean-in with the heart-lifting support of the Oracles - surprising and uplifting characters that help us find our way through challenging times, reminding us that we are all Oracles and together we can transform our challenges into fuel for healing and growth.
